We were living in a town about 6hrs from the capital city. One day we got a call from Caroline (the local nurse/midwife) to come to help a women in her in labour and for the birth of her baby. When we arrived she was still able to talk to us even though she was in a lot of pain. We monitored her for a few hours until she was about to give birth. When the baby was nearly here she said she couldn't do it but we encouraged her and prayed for her. In the end she did so well and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. About a week later we were able to visit her and her family in her home. She was grateful that we were able to be there in her birth as well as for the encouragement and prayers in the midst of it. What a privilege we get to be with women in these moments where they feel like they cannot make it but then with God's help He gives them the strength!
