Going Missional in

We were doing a shift in the labour ward at the referral hospital in the capital city. During our shift we were in the middle of caring for women in labour when we were called to the operation theater to assist them to find the fetal heart rate with our doppler. The mom was having a complication where they were not able to find the heart beat of the baby so they wanted the doppler to find out if the baby was alive or not so they can determine if they should do a cesarian section. I went with the doppler and I could not find the fetal heart rate. There was another way they could check if the heart was beating with this complication but said they had already done that and they could not feel the heart beat. I prayed and then asked if I could check one more time, I checked and I could feel the heart beating. I said how fast can you do a cesarian section, the baby is alive we need to do it now and fast because there were also other signs the baby was not doing well. Within three minutes the baby was born, we rushed him to the NICU where they were able to do suction and give him oxygen. After this initial resuscitation the baby was breathing and moving around but needed to continue to stay on oxygen for some time. We thank God that he is a God the performs miracles even today and brings life to little babies like this one!
